Description
Cardamom, sometimes cardamon, cardmom or cardamum and also Elaichi, laichi or Ilaichee is native to the Indian subcontinent and Indonesia. Both green and black cardamom are spindle-shaped pods that contain a number of seeds.
Green cardamom is often used in traditional Indian sweets and in masala chai (spiced tea). Both are also often used as a garnish in basmati rice and other dishes.
